If it was warmer it would sprout faster. It's ok to wait just don't wait to long or it increases chances for mold to start so keep an eye out. I feed my chickens shorter fodder than that! Looking good!

If you can increase the heat it should grow faster. Waiting is fine just keep an eye out for mold. I feed my chickens day 3 and 4 growth all the time. Good Job!

Can't belive it. I went to water this morning and it'd sour!!!!!!! So I guess I'll try the new grain on Monday. I'll give this to the chickens or squrriel who ever will eat it first. I was really so happy that it was going well. After my chores are done I'll watch some more u-tube on it. I have to do the garden today because of rain coming tomorrow. It will give it a good soak and that will be on it's way to sprouting. Hope all is well in Fodder Land. Everyone have a great Sunday!!!!! Mare

Good Morning!!!!! Hope everyone is having a good day! Raining here in Inverness , Fl. So it's a inside chore day! Monday was a busy day Started at 4 am and finished at 8pm with dinner. Now for the sprouting? I'm going to take a week off from sprouting. And start fresh with the new seeds. And yes I can try to do it in the living room but I really don't want that. I still haven't tried a fan yet. Should I try that? Well it's going on 8;30am I better start the chores. I'll check in later... Mare

Good morning Mare a fan couldn't hurt you may also want to try a different tray I have tried several over the years and some are better than others. Rememvrr the white hairs are ok on the fodder in thebpast when I have gitten mold I cut that part out then feed it or have cut the green off and feed them that. I have a spare tray laying around I know works well if you'd like to try it ket me know and I can ship it to you. I have a couple pigs coming tomorrow fun fun!

You are so sweet. You make me smile Yup! that's what I'm going to do, a fan this time. Since the tray is on it's way I'll wait to get it. I have my trays out in the shed. To redrill the holes in them. And see what happens. I guess since your so gun hoe to help me grow the fodder I'll start another bucket soaking again. But I'll use my wheat and your sample with your tray. I spoke with my friends brother the other night. He is also a homestead, Cows, chickens, pig and his wife does the canning of all the veggies that they grow. But he uses the big buckets of hard lick feed. I never heard of it? But he says it's works to him. I really want to get the fodder going. I'm in the kitchen, just put the bread in the oven and still waiting for the banana's to dry for a chip snack. The one in the store's I believe would kill a rat with all the stuff they have in to keep it in the bags for million's of year. I know that's not really true, just try to make all stuff we eat homemade. That's way I want this fodder to work for me. As soon as the bread is done, I'm going to make the holes in the trays and get the seeds a soaking. Guess you got my brain thinking again!!!!!! Hope everyone is have a great day!!!!!! Thanks so much again!!!!!!! Mare

Well it's time to call it a day. Just finish with dinner and everyone is tucked in for the night. Including another batch of wheat seed. I dug around the shed and found some older growing tray's with large slits in them. I going to layer it with a piece of plastic canvas sheets??? What do I have to lose. And I'll try to send pic's to ya on my cell since I have your email on the yahoo. I don't know if I'll do it right but I'll give it a shot. Have a wonderful evening and catch in the morning. Mare

Sounds like I haven't been the only busy one! Onew piggies are all tucked in waiting for the rain to be over. The tray I sent will give you an idea on how many drainage holes to place in future trays. Just fill it up to the first line with your soaked grain. Also why don't ya give sprouting corn a whirl it has way less mold issues than wheat. I've even sprouted pinto beans! Haha corn does have a sweet taste when its sprouted. I'm hoping to make it to get barley today wish me luck!

Good Morning, How is everyone doing??? This morning is going pretty good. I just send some pic"s did you get them??? I did them yesterday and saw today that they never made it. So I resent them. I hope they made it today. Tec is not my thing. And growing wheat seem to be a pain too!! I only sent 2 for today update. I finished the chicks coop yesterday and they seem to be ok this morning. Now I have to start on the room. Boy, can they make a dust mess in a room. It looks like a film of very fine white dust. It will be about 2 days in that room. Well I hope all is well there. I'll check in later to see if you received the pic's. Mare P.S. Hope piggy's are doing well.
