Has anyone every feed fodder to their rats? I do and they absolutely love it. They put on more weight faster.

Hi Bill, thanks for sharing I have always wondered how rats did on fodder. If you can post some pictures and details on what you feed them, how much etc so others can gain from your experience

I have about 1200 adult rats. My wife started fodder to feed her rabbits and i would feed the extra fodder to the rats. Each day i had enough to feed half the rats about 4 oz per cage (5 aduts and babies). So basically they got fodder every other day. The results were amazing. Rats that llooked to be in the small range by weight were weighing in as mediums. The best part is that they go crazy over it. They can smell it when i start feeding and start buzzing around their cage. I just bought a ton of barley for $157.This ton will produce about 8 lbs of fodder for every pound of barley or 16,000 pounds of feed. Next step is to expand and do some testing with rats fed diets with fodder and without. Attachments:
